Partnership Advisory Group meets again to discuss NHRMC future
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On Thursday, the group tasked with exploring a possible partnership or sale of New Hanover Regional Medical Center met once again.
The Partnership Advisory Group or PAG has chosen to focus on three proposals from Atrium Health, Duke Health, and Novant Health. The group last met on May 21.
After a presentation about health equity education, the group moved into closed session.
Co-chairs Spence Broadhurst and Barb Biehner say a good portion of that time was spent comparing the three proposals to either remaining independent or restructuring the hospital.
“We put all the time into understanding the proposals, and now we’re really getting back to that and kind of looking at what we can do with a partner and what we can do without one,” Biehner said.
The group is continuing to conduct virtual meetings and on-site visits with each of the interested organizations.
Presentations are scheduled next week for each organization. On Tuesday it is Duke Health, Wednesday is Novant Health, and Thursday is Atrium Health. You can watch those here.
