Payless ShoeSource has one foot out the door

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Payless ShoeSource has one foot out the door.

All 2,100 United States locations are being liquidated gradually beginning in March and finishing by the end of May.

We reached out to Payless’ corporate spokesperson but she declined to comment.

One customer named Tereasa Days told WWAY that she is not looking forward to the closure.

“I just got here today and found out they were going out of business and I wasn’t too sad about that because I was here with a friend and thought we could order shoes online and just found out that they’re not even gonna be online anymore,” said Tereasa.

Payless may need to file for bankruptcy for a second time when all is said and done.
