Pedestrian dies following Monday morning crash on Carolina Beach Road

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The man who was hit by a driver early Monday morning has died.

Wilmington Police say Jeremy McCumber, 35, of Wilmington died of his injuries. He was hit just before 6:30 a.m. on Carolina Beach Rd. near Orchid Rd.

Police say the investigation revealed that McCumber was crossing the road in an area not designated for pedestrian crossing.

The driver of the vehicle is not facing charges.
