Pedestrian killed in traffic accident in Oak Island

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Oak Island said a pedestrian was hit and killed in a single vehicle accident Monday morning.

In a public notice, the town said as of 8:45 a.m. the area of East Oak Island Drive between NE 31st and NE 32nd Streets was closed.

By 9:45 a.m., the town announced that portion of the road had reopened, and officers were still working to investigate the accident
