Pedestrian struck by alleged impaired driver from Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington driver hit a pedestrian while allegedly being impaired, according to the Wilmington Police Department.

Police say that on the evening of August 30th, Kristen Castro, 25, hit a pedestrian at the 600 block of Castle Street.

The person hit was injured and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Castro was arrested and charged with DWI, Reckless Driving, and Serious Injury by Vehicle. She has a $2,500 secure bond and has bonded out.
