Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One person is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in Wilmington.
Wilmington Police say around 6:50 p.m., Wilmington Police Department officers responded to a vehicle hitting a pedestrian in the 1800 block of Market Street. The man was in the road when he was struck.
Emergency medical crews took the pedestrian to the Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, where is being treated.
Market Street was closed between 17th and 20th Streets while police investigated the scene around 8:30 p.m. and later reopened.
The incident remains under investigation.
