Pender County Animal Shelter hosting $5 adoption this weekend
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Animal Shelter says they are so full, they may have to euthanize some of the animals for spacing reasons for the first time in nearly a decade.
The shelter currently has at least 105 animals including dogs and cats.
Most of them are strays, or were surrendered by their owners who could no longer take care of them.
There are 13 dogs available right now for adoption and three cats.
The other animals will have to be spayed or neutered before being released to the public.
The shelter says for a limited time, it’ll cost only $5 to adopt an animal, and if you don’t have the $5, they’ll cover you.
They’re open tomorrow and Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m.
If you can’t adopt an animal, you can make a sponsorship donation to cover the adoption fees for someone else who can take them.
You can visit them at 3280 New Savannah Road, Burgaw, NC 28425
