Pender County Commissioners election results
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The votes are in for Pender County’s Board of Commissioners, with Brad George, Ken Smith, and Randy Burton filling the commissioner chairs.
Smith, who represents District 4, won with 68.45% of the votes.
George remains in his seat for District 1, securing 67.14% of the votes.
Burton, who was appointed to the District 2 position earlier this year, won with 67.41% of the votes.
We caught up with Burton regarding his win, and he shared his excitement for the coming year.
“We are just looking forward to a good year ahead and a bright future for Pender County. We want people to be attracted here, we want to bring business here, and we are just looking for a great year.”
Burton also expressed his gratitude to those who cast their votes.
“It’s humbling, and it’s an honor to have the support of the citizens of Pender County. And although I represent District 2, I represent almost 70,000 citizens across the entire county — from here to Bladen County. It doesn’t matter to me; I represent all citizens.”
