Pender County provides update on county manager search

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) —  The Pender County Board of Commissioners is nearing the final stages of its search for a new county manager.

The board says the recruitment and evaluation process has been conducted in partnership with Developmental Associates of Chapel Hill and Pender County Human Resources, including multiple rounds of screening, interviews, and assessments to identify the candidate best suited to lead the county.

The board anticipates holding a vote on or before Dec. 1, 2025, to select the finalist.

Once the vote is complete, WWAY will let you know who has been selected, but Pender County says it will not provide further comment until a final decision is made.

The most recent former Pender County manager, Michael Silverman, was fired in April 2025. Meg Blue has been serving as the interim county manager since then.
