Pender County School Board drops Bible classes
PENDER COUNTY — The Pender County School Board is making some big changes to its curriculum.
Monday night the county school board decided to eliminate Bible classes from local schools completely.
The reason? They say the folks teaching the classes simply are not certified.
Board members say it will take two things to bring this class back next year: a certified teacher that’s willing to teach the class and a modified curriculum that encompasses all world religion, not just Christianity.
