Pender County Sheriff’s Office investigating after woman assaulted in Rocky Point

ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was reportedly attacked at her home in the Willows Bay Subdivision on Tuesday.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of an assault. The woman told deputies she was choked and assaulted. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The case remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
