Pender man facing numerous child sex offense charges

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Burgaw Police have charged a man in connection with a child sex offense investigation.

Police Chief Jim Hock said Humberto Hernandez Torrez, 35, was arrested yesterday and is facing charges including first degree sex offense with a child, indecent liberties with a child and solicit by computer. In all, Torrez faces six felony charges.

Police said the juvenile’s victim’s parents notified them about the alleged offenses. Hock said, however, the offense happened approximately three years ago.

Torrez is in jail under a $1.7 million bond. He’s due in court July 27.
