Perry’s Emporium giving back this holiday season
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– A long-time Wilmington business is working to do its part to give back this holiday season.
Perry’s Emporium started a program this year called the 12 Days of Giving.
Each day, the business will give a portion of their sales to a different charity.
Today’s money went to the Cape Fear Literacy Council, where Owner Alan Perry was a board member for 20 years.
“My father only made it to the 3rd grade, then went to the mills and started working in Kannapolis, so he never learned how to read or write. So, that was a big deal for me 25-30 years ago, and we’ve been in support of the Literacy Council for almost 30 years,” said Alan Perry, Owner of Perry’s Emporium.
Perry’s Emporium will actually be supporting 13 non-profits in 12 days, with two charities being awarded with portions of profits on Christmas Eve.
