Person dies at Wilmington shelter early Monday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County officials say a person died at a shelter early Monday morning.
According to a release, Emergency Medical Services responded to a call for an unresponsive person at Hoggard High School.
The high school is currently open as a shelter.
“It is with great sadness I report that a person at Hoggard High School passed away Monday morning, and a cause of death has not yet been determined,” said New Hanover County Manager Chris Coudriet. “We offer our heartfelt support to the friends and family of our community member. At this time we will not release the name of the individual to protect the family’s privacy during this time of loss.”
An investigation is currently underway.
