Pet Pals: 12-year-old Basset Hound Retriever mix with an old soul

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY)  — This week’s Pet Pal is a 12-year-old Basset Hound Retriever mix named Ripple who is looking for a loving home.

Ripple is spayed, weighs about 45 pounds. Shelter staff describe her an old soul that enjoys short walks and laying on the couch.

If you are interested in adopting Ripple but have other dogs, a meet and greet is required. Ripple possibly had food issues in her previous home.

Officer Stephen Watson says she was left behind by a previous owner who was evicted.

If you’re interested in meeting her, head to New Hanover County Animal Services at 180 Division Drive in Wilmington. They’re open weekdays from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon.

New Hanover County residents can adopt for $70.
