NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A kitten with a long life ahead of her is looking for a family!

Meet Amber, this week’s Pet Pal. She was left behind when her previous owner moved away. Amber is just 1-year-old and hopes to find a home with a laid back lifestyle.

Shelter staff describes Amber as a peaceful, gentle soul.

If you’d like to meet her, head to New Hanover County Animal Services. County residents can adopt for $70. Adoption hours are Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to Noon.

As a reminder,  New Hanover County Animal Services now allows pet owners to pay for their pet registration online.
