Peta campaign makes way to Cape Fear

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – An animal rights group is using its new campaign to ruffle some feathers in Wilmington.
Peta’s new guerilla-marketing campaign features a life-size chicken transport truck. It’s covered with images of real chickens crammed in crates Complete with recorded sounds of the birds.
The truck will make stops in downtown restaurants known for chicken on their menu, and area high schools and community colleges.
According to Wilmington resident Foster Griffin, the way the organization is trying to get the message across makes no sense to him.
“I don’t fully understand what’s going on, like are they trying to get out, like, obviously, I guess they are promoting, trying to promote people to go Vegan, but I don’t know what the point of that would be to drive that around, and parking it around a community college campus,” he said.  “Seems like something, it just doesn’t make too much sense to me.”
The campaign has already made stops in Greensboro, Raleigh, And Winston-Salem.
