RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Former South Columbus High football standout Pharoah McKever will likely see more playing time in the 2016 football season now that starting tight end David Grinnage has decided to enter his name in the 2016 NFL Draft. McKever spent the entire 2015 regular season as a defensive tackle for NC State, but he switched to the tight end position just two weeks prior to NC State’s appearance in the Bowl Bowl. The redshirt sophomore scored a 82 yard touchdown for the Wolfpack against Mississippi State on his first and only reception as a tight end.

RALEIGH, NC (NC STATE) – – NC State junior tight end David J. Grinnage has decided to forego his final year of eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

“I would like to thank Coach Doeren, Coach Faulkner and the NC State staff for their support throughout my career,” said Grinnage. “It will be tough to leave my Wolfpack teammates but I feel that this is the right decision for me and my family at this time.”

Grinnage, a preseason candidate for the Mackey Award each of the past two seasons, tallied 25 catches in 2015, with 18 coming against ranked teams.   He played in 38 career games, starting 25, and tallied 67 receptions for 798 yards and nine touchdowns.
