Pickleball for a purpose: Rallying for Alzheimer’s
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Comfort Keepers took to the pickleball courts for a special fundraiser, with all proceeds going directly toward the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
This tournament featured a $25 entry fee and welcomed participants of all ages and skill levels.
Attendees could also purchase raffle tickets at the entrance for a chance to win exciting prizes between matches.
Alyssa Kelly, owner of Comfort Keepers Wilmington, shared her personal connection to the cause: “I actually lost my father to Alzheimer’s three years ago, and it changes your life. I think the families need support, and we have a lot of resources that we have here from the Alzheimer’s Association that we want to share with people.”
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is set for Saturday, November 2. If you’re interested in donating to the cause or participating in the walk, please visit their website for more information.
