LELAND, NC (WWAY) — With a winter chill on the horizon, Piedmont Gas offers a few tips to help get us through this cold weather.

With your heating system working harder, some things you can do to save money include resealing your home and changing your air filters regularly

Additionally, Jason Wheatley from Piedmont Gas says you can change the direction your ceiling fans spin.

“One thing that a lot of people might not think about is actually the ceiling fans that you have in your home. I think we all know that warm air rises. If you set your change the direction of your ceiling fans to go in a clockwise direction, that reverse direction actually helps take that warm air and push it down lower,” Wheatley said.

Piedmont Gas offers a few different tools to help customers manage their usage, including an energy advisor webpage showing you how energy-efficient your home is.

Wheatley adds Piedmont is happy to work with customers to help them avoid late payments, fees, and disconnections, and they have options and assistance programs available to customers who may be struggling. They just need to contact the company.
