‘Poker Run’ raises money for 2-year-old with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Motorcycle enthusiasts, poker fans and anyone interested in a good time is expected to come out Saturday for a one-of-a-kind experience in Wilmington.
The Poker Run for Jace is raising money for Jace Lopez, a 2-year-old with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He and his family need to relocate to Chapel Hill for three months for stem cell treatments.
Jace is an energetic little boy who is doing well, but needs a transplant of his own stem cells harvested earlier. The transplant improves Jace’s chances for improvement.
The Poker Run is similar to a regular poker game, but players travel from place to place to get their hand. It kicks off at 10 a.m. at Carolina Coast Harley-Davidson and travels around the area to finally end at The Ogden Tap Room. At the final stop there will be activities for the whole family including a raffle, prizes, live music and food.
