Police: 9-year-old Chicago boy ‘lured’ into alley and shot
CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy says the murder of a 9-year-old city boy is among the most “unfathomable” of his 35 years in policing.
Police say Tyshawn Lee was walking to his grandmother’s house Monday when he was “lured” into an alley and executed because of his father’s alleged gang connections.
The child’s father, Pierre Stokes, says police have spent more time pursuing him than finding out who killed his son.
