Police find home hit by shots fired, shell casings at scene

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say a Wilmington home was hit by a bullet while people were inside late Sunday night.

Wilmington Police say it happened just before 11 p.m. near 1536 Corbett Street. That’s where officers say they got a call in reference to shots fired by black males in a red Dodge Charger.

When police got to the scene, they say several shell casings were found in the area. They also say an occupied home was hit by gunfire there, but say no one was hurt in the shooting.

Police are still investigating the crime.
