Police investigate armed robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after an armed robbery Wednesday night.

Investigators say the victim’s friend told her to come hang out at the Wimbledon Chase Apartments around 8:30.

She said when she walked up to the building, on Cedarwood Lane, a tall man wearing a ski mask pulled a gun on her.

The suspect ran off with her purse.
