Police: Man jumped in river to take his own life

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – The Wilmington police department searched all evening Sunday for a man they say jumped into the Cape Fear River downtown.

Police tell WWAY the man was seen jumping into the CFR around 4:00 P.M.

Witnesses tell WPD that the man was attempting to take his life by jumping into the river. We have not heard back from police on if they have found the man.
