Police: Masked man robs Scotchman store, steals cigarettes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say a masked man got away with cash and cigarettes from inside a Scotchman store early Friday morning.

Wilmington Police say the crime happened just before 2 a.m. at the Scotchman gas station in the 800 block of Pine Grove Drive. That’s where they say an unknown male walked into the store with a gun demanding money from the clerk.

Police say the man stole some Newport cigarettes and cash before taking off in an unknown direction. They say the man was wearing a white hoodie and a mask covering his face. WPD is investigating.
