Police: ‘Needle-like’ objects found inside Halloween candy


KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in Pennsylvania and Minnesota are investigating reports of needle-like objects found in Halloween candy.

Police in the Philadelphia suburb of Kennett Square say a “needle-type item” was reported inside wrapped candy bars given to five children Saturday.

In central Minnesota, a woman told police she found a needle in her child’s Halloween candy.

And in North Reading, Massachusetts, police say they received reports of a home leaving out samples of Hyland’s 4 Kids Cold ‘n Mucus cough syrup on Saturday.

No injuries have been reported.
