Police: No arrests after man ‘mouthing off’ punched in face at restaurant

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police they did not make any arrests when a man punched another man in the face outside the Cook-Out near UNCW last night.

Wilmington Police say just after 10 p.m. they got a call about a man in his 20s standing outside the fast food restaurant getting “mouthy” to others ordering from the drive-thru on South College Road.

Officers say the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, continued aggravating a family sitting in a vehicle there. That’s when police say a man in the vehicle got out and punched the “mouthy man” in the face, giving him a serious injury.

Police say the man was taken to the hospital for facial injuries. Officers say the man who punched him was not arrested, and that police will not charge either man.
