Police: Three injured in unrelated stabbings in downtown Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is investigating two separate stabbing incidents that happened early Sunday morning downtown.

Officers responded around 2:10 a.m. to a large fight in the 100 block of North Front Street, where they found two adult men suffering from stab wounds. Both were taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

About two minutes later, officers were called to a second, unrelated fight in the 0 block of North Front Street. At that scene, police found an adult woman with stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say the two incidents are not believed to be connected.

The investigations remain ongoing.
