POLICE: Woman causes damage to local nightclub, claims to be officer

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A woman faces several charges after Wilmington Police say she caused damage to a downtown nightclub and impersonated an officer.

Jennifer Dandron with WPD says around 1:00 a.m. Sunday officers with the Downtown Taskforce responded to the Ibiza Nightclub in reference to property damage.

Police say Christina Anstett was dancing and bumped into a mirror and then began punching it when she saw her reflection. Police say it resulted in about $1600 in damages.

When officers arrived on scene, they say Anstett produced a Coastal Carolina Public Safety badge.

Officers determined she was not supposed to be in possession of the badge after looking further into it. They then tried to take it from her. Police say that was when she became aggressive with officers.

Anstett was placed under arrest and charged with property damage, impersonating an officer and Resisting/delaying an officer.
