Deputy involved in NC 211 18-wheeler overturn crash OK

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman says a deputy is OK after being involved in a tractor-trailer crash that shut down portions of Highway 211 near Bolivia early Tuesday morning.

Dispatchers say deputies, fire crews and EMS responded to the scene shortly after the call came in at 7:15 a.m. They say an 18-wheeler carrying water overturned after the truck and one other vehicle crashed on Southport-Supply Road near Woodside Trail.

There were initial reports of minor injuries in the crash, but a spokeswoman says the deputy involved is OK. Dispatchers say crews re-directed traffic to Midway Road while they worked to clear the scene.
