Possible Red Cross scam in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — There’s a possible donation scam in Brunswick County.

Detectives are looking for anyone who might have been approached by or donated any toys or money to a red pick-up truck with an American Red Cross logo on the side.

The local American Red Cross reported that someone saw the truck in Brunswick County Monday and later, the Navassa Police Department tried to pull it over.

Police said when the truck stopped the suspects got out and ran. Police found several toys inside of the truck.
