Utility companies work to restore power to thousands
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – The heavy winds and rains from Tropical Storm Hermine left some people in the dark.
According to power outage maps from Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation, Duke Energy and Four County Electric Membership Corporation, at least 2,500 people are without power.
Crews are working to restore power as quickly as they can.
If you do go outside, be aware of the possibility of downed power lines.
If you do travel after the storm passes, there might be traffic lights out at various intersections. If you run into one, use caution and treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
