Protesters block Durham road in Ferguson rally
DURHAM, NC (AP) — Those protesting the decision against indicting a white police officer in the Ferguson, Missouri, shooting of a black teen briefly blocked a road in Durham.
Hundreds of people attended various rallies in the Raleigh-Durham area Tuesday evening.
Multiple media outlets reported that a group of about 20 people briefly stopped traffic on the northbound lanes of the Durham Freeway near Durham Bulls Athletic Park around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The group chanted “no justice, no peace” while holding signs and banging a drum. One sign read “Cops are liars.” Some of the protesters stood while others lay flat on the roadway.
Durham police said they did not make any arrests. No injuries were reported.
