Public hearing tonight for brewery proposed on Randall Parkway

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A public hearing on a proposed brewery on Randall Parkway is set for the Wilmington City Council meeting tonight.

It is continued discussion from a December council meeting. “Flying Machine Brewery” wants to build a brewery and tap room on Randall.

Neighbors worry it will create too much noise. Mayor Bill Saffo said the developers have made some changes to try to alleviate some of the concern. He said the brewery could be a good addition to the city if it is done in the right way.

“These are not what I would call in the old days beer joints,” Saffo said. “These are really high end, nice facilities with a lot of money and a lot of work is being put into these craft breweries and it seems to be something that is really popular.”

The public hearing will be held at the city council meeting. It starts at 6:30 p.m.
