Pumpkin recycling events being held starting November 1

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Halloween is a week away, meaning time is running out to enjoy your decorated pumpkin.
Once the spooky day has passed, you might find yourself wanting to dispose of the gourd.
There are several pumpkin recycling events happening around the area starting on November 1.
The 6th annual pumpkin collection events run from November 1 through 10 and November 29 through December 8.

You’re asked to remove candles, googly eyes, or anything that won’t naturally break down.
The pumpkins will be used to feed animals and in composting.
