Quadriplegic man credits four-legged companion with saving him from NC house fire

A Duplin County man said he is alive and well today because his dog saved him from a fire at his Rose Hill home.

On Saturday, Josh Resseguie, who is quadriplegic, was in the bedroom with the door closed when he said his dog, Beau, busted through the door to alerted him of an emergency.

That alert allowed Resseguie enough time to get out of his house in his wheelchair before it was too late.

Resseguie and four-year-old Beau spend all their time together in a special bond, and Josh says he probably wouldn’t be alive today without Beau’s instincts and alerting him to the fire.

He said he is also very thankful for the Rose Hill Fire Department, as they are the reason he will be able to go back to his home at some point because they put the fire out before irreparable damage was done.
