Queen Azalea tours the Port City
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Queen Azalea Mallory Hagan put a lot of smiles on a lot of little faces today when she toured the Port City.
At Forest Hills Elementary students donned their festival finest and welcomed the Queen with singing and dancing.
“It was great! They even changed the lyrics to ‘The Best Day of Your Life’. They said it was going to be the best week of my life. And they’re probably right,” said Hagan.
In the afternoon Hagan went to the Betty Cameron Children’s Hospital to visit patients and their families.
“I think it’s incredible any time you can put a smile on a kid’s face”, said Hagan.
Queen Mallory said her time in Wilmington has been nothing short of amazing so far and she can’t wait for even more festivities throughout the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to the concerts, I’ll say. My parents just landed and I live far away from them. So I’m excited to spend some time with my parents in Wilmington and have that opportunity to share this experience with them,” said Hagan.
Hagan said she is honored to represent Wilmignton and the Azalea Festival this week.
