(WWAY) — Rain chances continue this morning as dry weather is expected later this week.

A moist tropical air mass will remain in place through Thursday wedged between a subtropical high and a low pressure, keeping afternoon temperatures mainly in the middle to upper 80s, with warm and humid overnight lows in the mid-70s. The primary weather concern will be scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms this morning. While there will be breaks in the rainfall like this afternoon and evening, storms will be capable of producing downpours that can cause localized street flooding and ponding of water on roads where heavier storms repeatedly move over the same locations. Rain chances remain elevated through Thursday, with a gradual drying trend expected late in the week, although isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms will still be possible.

WWAY FORECAST:

Today: A few showers and storms. High in the middle to upper 80s.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. A slight chance for a shower or storm. Low in the middles 70s.

Thursday: Isolated showers and storms. Seasonable high in the upper 80s.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy skies. Low in the middle 70s.
