Reality show heads to Pender County

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — For nine seasons The Fireball Run has been bringing celebrities and regular folks together for a cross country race filled with challenges and trivia.

But you can’t watch this reality series on cable.

“So Fireball Run is an online streaming series. You can catch it on Amazon Fire, Roku, Google Chromcast, iTunes, or you can watch the entire season no cost no commercials on fireballrun.com,” said Mr. J. Sanchez the show’s executive producer.

Celebrities from Mythbusters, America’s Next Top Model, and other minor actors will join four astronauts from four countries. The teams will pile into 40 crazy cars, and those rides are just as important as the people driving them.

“But of course the vehicles that move them become characters themselves and become a personality of the teams. So it’s neat to see that personality and what type of vehicle they’re driving,” said Sanchez.

This season kicks off in September in Hartford, Connecticut.

It’s not all fun and games. The Fireball Run is doing a lot of good by raising awareness for missing children across the country.

“That effort since 2007 has aided in the recovery of an unprecedented 44 missing kids,” said Sanchez.

Contestants plaster their cars with pictures of the kids and hand out fliers along their 2000 mile journey.

Topsail Island will be ready for their close-up on Sept. 29.
