Red Dog’s may lose permit to sell alcohol
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — After 40 years in Wrightsville Beach, Red Dog’s bar may lose their liquor license.
The bar is applying for a new ABC permit, and part of their application is a recommendation from the town.
The Board of Aldermen met last night and will tell the ABC Commission not to issue the permit.
Tim Owens, Wrightsville Beach Town Manager, said that some of the issues are related to the bar’s expansion in 2000.
“They actually came in and asked to put in a retail use upstairs and went ahead and turned it into a bar so still have some issues with the zoning part. We also have issue with civil citations, fights, drug activity, those things that come along with the bar,” said Owens
The board will be sending their recommendation to the ABC commission next week.
