WRIGHSTVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission has announced that the second phase of a major renovation project at the Wrightsville Beach Boating Access Area will begin after the new year.

Between Jan. 2 and March 1, visitors can expect reduced parking at the boating access located at 109 Causeway Drive.

According to the NCWRC, while the access entry lane to the ramp will be closed, access to the boat ramps will remain open via the existing parking area, which will serve as a combined entry lane and parking lot. This adjustment will temporarily limit the number of available parking spaces. Visitors are encouraged to follow on-site traffic flow signage.

The renovation will replace 440 linear feet of deteriorating bulkhead along the entry lane to the boat ramp. NC Wildlife says the upgrades aim to enhance the structural safety of the northern portion of the site, addressing damage caused by age and environmental factors.

Construction updates, including partial and full closure schedules, will be posted on the NCWRC’s website.

For those affected by limited parking, the NCWRC recommends using the nearby Trails End Boating Access Area at 621 Trails End Road in Wilmington.
