Repeat Columbus County offender sentenced to 13.5 years in prison

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Tabor City man was officially sentenced in Columbus County Court as a habitual felon.
The first week of December, 65-year-old, Frank “Bo” Phillips was sentenced to 13.5 years in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, Phillips was involved in multiple cases since 2024.
In 2025, some of his charges are as follows:
- April 19th — Home in Tabor City
- Misdemeanor Larceny, Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods
- May 3rd — Home in tabor City (Tabor City PD Case)
- Felony Second Degree Burglary, Felony Larceny
- August 10th — Home in Tabor City
- Felony Larceny, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods/Property
- August 14th — Farm Facility in Tabor City
- Misdemeanor Larceny
- August 21st — Home in Tabor City (Victim Obtained Warrant)
- Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespassing
- August 27th — Home in Tabor City
- Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense
- August 29th — Home in Tabor City (Tabor City PD Case)
- Felony Larceny
In a press release, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said that the sentencing “is a result of strong teamwork and the outstanding efforts of the Columbus County District Attorney’s Office.”
They also remind the community to lock their doors and report suspicious activity.
