Republican leaders select Charlotte as site for RNC in 2020, Nevada GOP chairman says
CHARLOTTE, NC (WSOC) — The 2020 Republican National Convention will be held in Charlotte, Nevada GOP Chair Michael McDonald said.
At the summer Republican meetings in Austin, Texas, the RNC Site Selection Committee voted in closed session Wednesday morning to officially select the Queen City to host the convention in 2020.
A source told Channel 9 me the selection committee voted unanimously in favor of Charlotte.
The vote follows Charlotte City Council’s 6-5 approval on Monday of a framework to host Republican leaders.
