Residents concerned over new Dollar General design in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) —  A new Dollar General is in the process of being built across from town hall in Carolina Beach. Some residents though are not too crazy about the design choice for the business.

The building is currently slated to be a standard box structure with a flat roof construction and design.

Residents are sending in their input and hope their voice will be enough to convince developers Par 5 to construct a more updated look.

Mayor Pro Tem LeAnn Pierce and councilman Steve Shuttleworth were scheduled to have a conference call with the developer Tuesday and said they would carry concerns to them and hopefully get some results.

It’s expected to open in the fall.
