Ricks to leave New Hanover County for private sector
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County’s public and legislative affairs director will leave next month for the private sector.
Carey Disney Ricks announced today she is starting her own consulting business. Her last day with the county is June 8.
Ricks has served as public and legislative affairs director for three years overseeing county information, outreach, branding and managing the county legislative needs. Before that she was the spokesperson for the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.
“Although I will no longer be stationed in my current county complex office after June 8, I will continue to work with the county on large scale public relations initiatives and programs, and will coordinate along those lines with the fine men and women of county leadership, management, Public Affairs and other talented county departments until further notice,” Ricks said in an e-mail.
