‘RJ Decker’ Season 2 filming planned for Wilmington’s Eden Village

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Production for the second season of “RJ Decker” is scheduled to return to Wilmington later this month, with filming planned in the Eden Village neighborhood.
The filming permit application submitted to the City of Wilmington calls for production on Aug. 24, Aug. 25 and Sept. 2, with contingency dates possible on Aug. 25, 27, 28 and 31 and Sept. 1.
The production is being handled by 20th Television.
Filming will take place entirely outdoors at Eden Village, with two cast members, approximately 100 crew members and 20 extras expected to participate.
No full street closures are planned.
Equipment will be parked along Kornegay Avenue between Stewart Circle and Bunche Street, with the northbound lane in the requested equipment parking area subject to traffic control. NCDOT-certified flaggers will assist, and police officers are expected to be in the area between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. for safety and traffic assistance.
Additional on-street parking may be used on McClammy Street and Robeson Street near Kornegay Avenue.
The production’s base camp, extras holding, cast and crew parking and catering will be located at Cinespace Studios.
The permit application also notes that a small firework explosion will be used as part of a scene. According to the application, the effect will not be audible outside of Eden Village, and residents and village management have been notified.
Preparation days are scheduled for Aug. 21, 23, 26, 27, 28 and 31, as well as Sept. 1. Crews will complete small construction projects for the scene during those days.
The application states that the preparation work is not expected to create excessive noise or disrupt normal traffic or residents’ use of their properties.
The City of Wilmington asked residents who believe the proposed filming could create an undue hardship to contact the city’s film liaison by 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.
