Road closures ahead of Southport’s ‘Light Up the Night Christmas Parade’

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport Police Department is alerting residents of upcoming road closures along the parade route.

Drivers should expect delays starting Friday afternoon.

Howe Street will close between 11th and 10th streets starting at 5 p.m. and traffic will be diverted onto East and West 11th Street.

All of Howe Street is set to close temporarily at 6:15 p.m. for the ‘Light Up the Night Christmas Parade’ that starts at 6:30 p.m.

To allow parade participants to line up, around 5:30 p.m., South Howe Street between Howe and Bay Streets will close to traffic. Bay Street between Davis and Caswell Streets will close.

There will be several officers staged to help with traffic along Howe Street.
