SABLE helicopter transported from Ogden Park after making precautionary landing Thursday night
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A SABLE (Southeastern NC Air-Borne Law Enforcement) helicopter has been removed from Ogden Park after being forced to make a precautionary landing Thursday night.
A Wilmington Police Department crew was conducting a joint training flight with a partner agency when a warning light came on. As a precaution, the chief pilot set the aircraft down safely in the park without injury to anyone on the ground.
The crew on board was also unharmed during this landing.
SABLE was put onto a flatbed shortly after on Thursday night and taken to the hangar.
Modern Air will check it out to see what may have caused the problem.
SABLE is out of service until further notice.
