Santa Claus arrives to Southport Winterfest in style

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY)– Santa Claus and his helper took a trip on the ferry on Friday, from Southport to Fort Fisher at 4 PM, and then turned around to head back at 4:45 PM. Families who were able to ride the ferry had the opportunity to spend time with him and take photos. He made sure to check who on the list was naughty or nice.

“I asked if they are doing good in school and listening to their parents, and they said they have been doing good in school and listening to their parents and everything. I will see what I can bring them,” said Santa.

After the ferry ride, Santa Claus headed to the “Light up the Night Christmas Parade” in downtown Southport.

The Southport’s Winterfest will continue Saturday with a craft festival, a “Holiday Tour of Homes”, a train, toy show, and the Southport Christmas Flotilla.
